New year parties at Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai Thailand #SMSnotes

Even if you do not want to buy anything (but you probably will) just going for a stroll up and down the Night Bazaar is an amazing experience.
Night Bazaars are popular destinations for celebrating New Year's Eve in many countries, particularly in Asia. These vibrant markets offer a unique atmosphere with a mix of shopping, entertainment, and food stalls. If you're planning to attend a New Year's party at a Night Bazaar, here are some tips to make the most of your experience:

The place is alive with brightly colored lights, music, the sounds of tourists bargaining for goods, and the aromatic smells as you pass by a hot food vendor.
Arrive Early: Night Bazaars tend to get crowded, especially on special occasions like New Year's Eve. Arriving early will give you a chance to explore the stalls and find a good spot to celebrate.
Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as you might be walking around a lot. Depending on the climate, bring layers or appropriate attire.
Plan Transportation: Night Bazaars can be located in busy areas, so it's important to plan your transportation in advance. Consider taking public transport or arranging a designated driver if you plan to consume alcohol.

Every open bit of space becomes a place for someone to set up a stall.
Budget Wisely: Night Bazaars offer a wide variety of items for sale, from street food to unique handmade crafts. Set a budget to avoid overspending.
Try Local Cuisine: One of the highlights of Night Bazaars is the diverse range of street food available. Don't miss the opportunity to try local dishes and snacks.
Enjoy the Entertainment: Many Night Bazaars feature live music, cultural performances, and other forms of entertainment. Take the time to enjoy these shows.
Stay Hydrated: If you're celebrating in a warm climate or if you're dancing and moving around a lot, it's important to stay hydrated. Carry a water bottle with you.

Definitely not to be missed on any visit to Chiang Mai.
Be Mindful of Your Belongings: With large crowds, there's always a risk of pickpocketing. Keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings.
Capture the Moment: New Year's Eve is a special occasion, so don't forget to take some photos to remember the night.
Plan Your Exit: After the countdown and celebrations, there may be a rush to leave. Be prepared for some delays in transportation and consider arranging a ride in advance.
Remember, each Night Bazaar is unique, so it's a good idea to do some research on the specific bazaar you plan to attend. Check if they have any special events or performances planned for New Year's Eve. Lastly, have a fantastic time celebrating the start of the new year!

TIP = use Thai Baht for your purchases, it is easier. If you are short of funds, there are plenty of Banks and ATMs along the Night Bazaar and there are Money Exchanges located near the 7-Eleven and on both sides of the street between Mcdonald's and Ansarn Market.

Mae Kuang Dam Suspension Bridge , Chiang Mai Thailand #SMSnotes

Viewpoint at a man-made lake known for its mountain scenery, fishing & suspension bridge. about 27 kms from the old city center. There is a suspension Bridge that many people go to view. The lake itself is surrounded by beautiful green hills. It's beautiful beyond words and definitely worth visiting! There are no tourists at all, and the scenery is very shocking! However, there will be some problems with Google's navigation. It took us a long way, and when we found it impassable, we spared ourselves a long way to find our way. In short, here, you can enjoy the most beautiful scenery in Chiang Mai!

On a fine day you get great views across the lake to the mountains beyond as the sun shines from behind you as you face the Dam. Views into the valley not so good as you face into the sun. Beware if following Google Maps as will ring you to a closed off road on the West side of the Dam. I had to double back and found the correct route through the National Park entrance on the East Side.

Beautiful spot to ride to on ebikes. Tours here guided by experts in ebiking, SurRon, Rydeculture etc etc. Lovely jungle trails for experienced trail riders and beginners alike. Great sunsets here and a couple of good seafood restaurants on the lake shores. Highly recommended by ebikeCNX and the group riders.

Great place for an out of town trip from Chiang Mai. Take some food with you and enjoy the sun ☀️ set. Most days people come to enjoy the nice atmosphere around that time.

The Mae Kuang Dam Suspension Bridge in Chiang Mai, Thailand, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can stroll across the bridge, feeling the gentle sway beneath their feet.

Built to provide access across the reservoir, the bridge has become a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Its sturdy cables and architectural design ensure safety and stability.
