The Mae Ngat Somboon Chon Dam (เขื่อนแม่งัดสมบูรณ์ชล)

The Mae Ngat Somboon Chon Dam (เขื่อนแม่งัดสมบูรณ์ชล)

The scenic lake behind a dam. Belongs to a national park. You can book a trip by longtail boat to visit one of the swimming resorts and restaurants. There you can have fun in the water and enjoy freshly prepared fish. Recommended. Take a boat trip for 600 baths (1-8 people). Beautiful dam and lake. Restaurant on the water halfway.

Dec 2021 we had to show vaccination proof. If not vaccinated, ATK test (200 baths, or bring your own test kit). General admission 30bath, foreigners 100bath. It's at the entrance to Si Lanna National Park and holds a scenic reservoir dotted with houseboats that act as both hotels and restaurants. Only a little over an hour's drive from Chiang Mai, it's a super place to relax and have fun

A secret free entrance is behind the shrine located at T-junction before arriving at the main entrance. You will see the stair where local people walk up for exercise or relax in the morning or evening. Beautiful view from the restaurant overlooking the dam. Part of the Sri Lanna National Park 100 baht entry fee for foreigners
Wonderful outing. A lovely lunch. Tranquil and beautiful place exceptionally peaceful and quiet
The boat ride was great. Great for nature lovers and hikers.
Beautiful scenery. It is also possible to make a boat trip.
In the visitor center, there are modern clean toilets. The awesome picnic place with your family or your team is about 50 km from Chiangmai city.
800 ฿ per person per night with 2 meals (dinner and breakfast ). Nice quiet place, a big Restaurant, and the view is nice with the cool breeze from the lake
Take 10-15 minutes by boat from land to the floating house.

An hour's drive out of central Chiang Mai, Mae Ngat Dam & Reservoir is a typical Thai national park area with plenty of paths to follow. If you book the better-floating restaurant e.g. EAKHACHAI floating restaurant then all is very fine. Good camping location on mae ngad dam
Onsite restaurant Served Delicious fish dish must try
We booked a rotten place but were allowed to change to the above one.
Location is great, the boat trip is great, the weather now perfect, food and swimming are all lovely experiences

Have many activities on there such as kayak, water playground, fishing, BBQ, carding, and drinking. My college likes to take a year's meeting here.
Opposite the car parking there are only few local restaurants, but the biggest one served excellent fried rice.
Very cool place to stay over for the night. They offer different types of accommodations and food. They fast boat service is included if you stay overnight. We took a kayak and just discovered the dam with beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon it's good to take a swim and just relax with the jungle "music" sounds from the jungle. Great place, with great infrastructure, everything will be organized for you! Beautiful scenery and nice rafting houses on this lake will make you relax! Definitely worth spending a lovely time over a weekend! The price is a bit high but well worth it.
If you have kids then definitely bring them with you!

Some beautiful views, particularly when the weather is fine. It is my favorite and regular fishing place. The common game fish are Giant snakehead fish and Hampala fish for artificial bait fishing, also there are some other game fish for fresh bait fishing such as catfish, carp, and carp. Simply breathe taking. Get a boat ride it is unforgettable
The local fishing tour guide is also available. Very Epic View, need to see it once in a life time.
It's a great place to spend a day with your family.

The view of the lake and the mountains is so relaxing and makes you feel away from troubles and the daily pressure. The boat ride gives you an opportunity to see the surrounding forest and some floating huts. Very peaceful, and the cafe was okay but there are good restaurants further upstream to reach bt the longboats. Well worth the experience..there are also cabins for rent on the water if you want to stay overnight or longer.

We came there with three kids and they were so excited about the water slides into the lake! It's not really an aquapark there. But when the main attraction is the view, some small slides are definitely enough. We also did some kayaking, which was fun for all of us.
The deck floor is too hot, so you barely can step on it with bare feet. Please bring your slippers with you. There were no amenities in the shower. So if you want to get a nice shower please bring it with you.

We had lunch in the restaurant there and it was really tasty. This place is very popular among the locals, but they have western food on their menu also. Refreshing your mind, enjoy your great time with a beautiful dam. Many floating resorts here for you to stay at.
Went there for the 2023 countdown and it was the best feeling we all have enjoyed.

The fireworks and stage were not grand setups. It was meant to have a small cozy feeling for everyone. People are selling paper lanterns, just keep a lookout and buy when you can. Seems like it is not supported by the local authorities. The old structure and the light display along with the fireworks completed our new year. Please visit this place when you are in Chiang Mai.

Wat Sri Suphan (วัดศรีสุพรรณ) the Silver Hall

Wat Sri Suphan (วัดศรีสุพรรณ) the Silver Hall

This ornate, Lanna-style Buddhist temple was originally built during the Mangrai dynasty. The "Silver Temple" here is probably the single most beautiful building of around 20 Temples I've seen in Chiang Mai so far. Amazing detailed metalwork. This is one of the bucket list places we had when we traveled to Chiang Mai. We reached there during sunset and were instantly mesmerized by the beauty of this place. Chiang Mai Thailand. The Silver temple.

For some reason whilst women can't go inside this building, they can visit the second main assembly hall and traditional temple building. There are several craft stalls on this site and the shrine "Elephant Buddha Statue" where offerings were being made. I was fascinated by this small silver temple and its detailed craftsmanship. Although it is outside the walls of the old city, it is worth the walk.

Chiang Mai Thailand. The Silver temple. Unfortunately, women can not step inside the temple but the exterior is more impressive anyways.
This Wat was beautiful and had 2 giant bodhi trees. The silver look is amazing and don't forget to look at the floor as it is stunning as well but can get overlooked. One note as with all Wats women are not allowed in one of the temples and for this one, it's the silver one. Here I saw also a Sal tree which is said to be the type of tree the Buddha was born under and supported his mother during birth. Great craftsmanship. But judging from the gilded modern details, most of the facade works were done in recent years, not the manga dynasty, but still very impressive. Was not pleased to find out that women were not allowed in. Beautiful temple. Also sells various statues, amulets, and merit-making items (incense, candles, etc). Well worth the visit. Has special events sometimes in the evenings on the weekend. It also has an excellent exhibit about silver crafting and Lanna's history.

Very beautiful silver temple! So surprised that I didn't find an article talking about it online. But luckily we met a local and he recommended this to me. The silver temple exterior is interesting with ancient 7 wonders, modern cities and even marvel characters! Women aren't allowed to go in. This temple was recommended by a local. Once I went there I was astonished by the beauty of this unique temple. Somehow it's not listed among the highlights of Chiang Mai, and I just cannot understand why.
All of the ASEAN countries are on the side.
Marvel characters are hidden in the walls.
Beautiful silver made up the entire temple.
Wat Sri Suphan also called The Silver Temple is truly one of the most beautiful temples in Chiang Mai. This unique temple is almost completely clad in silver. It is one of a kind in Thailand and perhaps in Asia. The temple is located in Wualai District, Chiang Mai’s traditional silver-making village just south of the old city. A beautiful Wat that needs to be seen both at night and during the day. The silver color is interesting in the daylight, and the color-changing lights they shine on it at night are a unique touch. Such a hidden gem in Chiangmai. A kind of little-known off-the-beaten-track attraction. I was impressed by how detailed and stunning it was. A different temple in Chiang Mai. Visit the Saturday night with the street market and it was free. A shame that women cannot enter the silver temple. A bit of nonsense... This is not Islam. Beautiful with the lights at night and free entrance!
Very unique. Worth visiting. The all-silver temple is a sight to see in Hua Hin Thailand. Women are not allowed inside but men are. No shorts allowed. However, women can not enter the silver hall. I find it hard to understand why women are not allowed to go inside.

Truly beautiful. Astonishing masterpiece! A gem hidden in Chiang Mai, it’s been 4 years that I live here but I discovered this temple only a few days ago!

The work which has been done during that time is amazing, the attention to every detail makes it even more beautiful. I didn't know what I was going to see but I was completely blown away. The work that has gone into this site is magnificent with a large amount of silver having been used in its construction. Otherwise known as The Silver Hall it is males only inside (as some temples are) but fantastic regardless. You really must walk right around the outside to take advantage of all of the inscriptions. Well worth a visit. Left me feeling uplifted!

This is a must-visit temple. Unlike others it's silver! Bring silver it gives it a special kind of feel. There are so many little details that you can spend quite some time exploring its different areas. Unfortunately, women aren't allowed into its inner sanctum, but there is still a lot to be discovered in the walls surrounding the temple... Find Stonehenge for example!
Interesting artwork inside and outside of the Silver Temple. Great Silver Temple..
A lot of beautiful details on the whole building n everything is made of silver. Stunning Temple, it's an art piece totally Silver. It's kind of crazy, stories made out of metal inside of the temple. An amazing small temple, off the beaten track, a visit was recommended by a friendly local man.

The artwork in and out of this temple is so intricate and beautiful, there is so much detail. As is usual with temples, there are surprises, and seeing the engravings of the seven wonders of the world was a surprise for me.

There is a small entrance fee, and sadly women are not permitted to enter the temple.
I visited today 1st November 2022...First time since covid...a few weeks ago the old chedi collapsed after too much rainfall, so some pictures of the ruins

The actual Silver Temple is still amazing! One the nicest temples in Chiang Mai. Just next to the Saturday walking street. It's a very nice Temple, The Monks it's very friendly, Nice temple ever. I have a video of this temple on my YouTube Channel, the name of my YouTube Channel is Ivy C & Oli B. Please watch my video, like it, and subscribe. Thanks. Yup. Worth the visit. An entire building covered in decorated metal. Just not what you would find anywhere else. Lots of amenities and shops with bike parking. Give it a visit. It's hard to be able to see Wat Sri Suphan properly due to parked cars and food vendor stalls.

Beautiful temple, small but different from most as it's decorated with mostly silver. Try to come after sunset too, because the temple lights up with different colors and it's right next to a walking street that is busy at night. The only thing to note is women are not allowed inside. Most people come just to look at the Silver Temple rather than the whole complex.

Huay Tung Tao Reservoir, Chiang Mai Thailand

A cloudy day is a day when the sky is covered by clouds, which can range from light, wispy clouds to thick, dark ones. Cloudy days can be caused by a variety of weather patterns, such as low pressure systems, high humidity, or the presence of an approaching storm.

Cloudy days can have a variety of effects on the environment and on people's moods. For example, cloudy days can make it feel cooler outside, as the clouds block some of the sun's rays and prevent them from heating up the ground. This can be beneficial in the summer months, when temperatures can become uncomfortably high.
On the other hand, cloudy days can also make it feel darker and more dreary outside, which can have a negative impact on people's moods. Some people may feel more tired or lethargic on cloudy days, while others may find the lack of sunshine to be depressing.

Overall, cloudy days are a normal part of the weather cycle, and they can have both positive and negative effects on people and the environment. all people, regardless of their background, nationality, or circumstances, share a common existence and live together on the same planet. It emphasizes the interconnectedness and shared humanity of individuals worldwide. We all live under the same sky, but we don’t all have the same horizon. – Konrad Adenauer Chiang Mai Thailand

And sometimes, that means sunsetting the relationship. The phrase “the sunset is beautiful isn't it” is a way of saying that even though the relationship is ending, there are still good memories

Sunset Personality
They are impulsive, rank higher in memory tests, are more creative, display an eagerness to explore the unknown, and are more prone to developing bad habits. Again, many of these traits have a direct correlation to the Sun making it's daily descent. A Sunset signifies finality. The day is done, gone, and over.

Sunsets drive romantic feelings in people. They create magical moments and can amplify the love people have for each other. How often have you seen couples expressing affection toward one another while watching a sunset?

A sunset at a lake can be a breathtaking and serene sight. As the day draws to a close, the sun's rays create a beautiful display of colors and reflections on the water's surface. Here's a description of a sunset at a lake:

As the sun starts to descend toward the horizon, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant hues. Shades of orange, pink, and gold streak across the sky, casting a warm and inviting glow. The clouds catch the light, adding depth and texture to the scene, as if they are painted with brushstrokes of pastel colors.

Huay Tung Tao Reservoir, Chiang Mai Thailand

A beautiful sunset is a stunning natural phenomenon that occurs when the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm and colorful glow across the sky. The colors of a sunset can range from bright oranges and pinks to deep purples and blues, creating a breathtaking scene that inspires awe and wonder in those who witness it.

There are many factors that can contribute to a beautiful sunset, including the weather, time of year, and location. Coastal areas and mountain tops are popular spots to watch the sunset, as they offer unobstructed views of the horizon and allow the colors to reflect off the water or landscape.

A beautiful sunset can also be a romantic experience, making it a popular activity for couples and honeymooners. Watching the sun slowly disappear below the horizon, as the sky turns from shades of orange and pink to dark blues and purples, can create a sense of intimacy and connection with the natural world.

Arts exhibition at Central Chiang Mai Airport

Creating an art thesis is an opportunity to explore and showcase your artistic vision, ideas, and skills. It is a culmination of your artistic journey and serves as a reflection of your growth and development as an artist. Here are some steps to consider when developing your art thesis:

Select a Theme or Concept: Choose a central theme or concept that will drive your artistic exploration. This could be a personal experience, a social issue, an artistic movement, or any subject that resonates with you. Your thesis should have a cohesive and meaningful focus that ties your artworks together.

Research and Conceptual Development: Conduct research to deepen your understanding of your chosen theme. Explore relevant artists, art history, cultural influences, or theoretical frameworks that relate to your concept. This research will inform and inspire your artistic process and help you develop a strong conceptual foundation for your thesis.

Develop Artworks: Create a series of artworks that embody and express your chosen theme or concept. Experiment with different mediums, techniques, and styles to communicate your ideas effectively. Consider how your artworks will interact with one another and how they will be displayed or presented as a cohesive body of work.

Artist Statement: Write an artist statement that explains the intention and conceptual framework behind your art thesis. It should provide insights into your artistic process, the ideas you explored, and the meaning behind your artworks. The artist statement is an essential component of your thesis, as it helps viewers and evaluators understand the context and purpose of your work.

Exhibition or Presentation: Plan how you will present your art thesis to an audience. This could involve curating an exhibition in a gallery space, setting up a pop-up show, or creating a digital portfolio. Consider the layout, lighting, and overall aesthetic of the exhibition space to enhance the viewer's experience and engagement with your artworks.

Documentation: Document your artworks professionally through high-quality photographs or videos. This documentation is crucial for archiving and promoting your work beyond the thesis exhibition. It will also be useful for including in your portfolio or submitting to future opportunities and applications.

Reflective Writing: In addition to the artist statement, write a reflective essay or journal that documents your artistic journey throughout the thesis process. Reflect on the challenges, breakthroughs, and insights you gained during the creation of your artworks. This writing can provide a personal narrative that complements and enhances the viewer's understanding of your thesis.

Remember to allocate sufficient time for each stage of the thesis development process, from research and conceptualization to creation and presentation. Seek feedback from mentors, peers, and advisors to refine your ideas and strengthen your artistic vision. Embrace the opportunity to push the boundaries of your art practice and create a thesis that represents your unique artistic voice.
