Roses : Love planted a rose, and the world turned sweet.

Roses are most commonly associated with love and romance. Roses can also mean secrecy or confidentiality. The term “sub rosa”, meaning under the rose, comes from ancient times.

The rose's popularity for being a symbol of romance and passion has ancient roots. Nearly every culture and religion in the world associates the red rose with love, passion, and longing.
But make no mistake, despite their obvious allure, “the rose is also a very strong self-defender,” Herron says. “It shields itself with guard petals and thorns for protection.

In Western culture, the significance of the red rose dates back to Greek mythology and the belief that the red rose was created by Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Legend has it that the flower grew from the ground watered with Aphrodite's tears and the blood of her ill-fated lover Adonis.

Rose has been proven to: Balance moisture levels in the skin, so the skin stays hydrated. Tone the skin due to its many astringent properties reducing excess oiliness and tightening large pores. Protect skin from UV damage due to the high amount of antioxidants.

The name Rose means rose, as in the flower. This lovely name is derived from the Latin rosa, which refers to the woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa.
